What is Apples' Rosetta 2

Apple's Rosetta 2 allows M1 Macs to run Intel apps.
In short, it helps to convert the code written for x86 architecture into the code which can run on an ARM-based architecture.

The Rosetta stone

French army engineers who were part of Napoleon Bonaparte’s Egypt campaign discovered a stone slab in 1799 while making repairs to a fort near the town of Rashid (Rosetta). This stone has great significance and is named the Rosetta stone.

In the 19th century, the Rosetta Stone helped scholars at long last crack the code of hieroglyphics, the ancient Egyptian writing system.

The Rosetta stone has the same text written in 3 different languages one is Egyptian hieroglyphics and one is Demotic and one is Ancient Greek. Using ancient greek we were able to understand hieroglyphics. We can say that the Rosetta stone helped us to convert the Egyptian language into our language.
